Exhibitions
Ii's home region museum consists of several exhibition ensembles. The renewed basic exhibition of the granary presents the history of Ii and objects related to agriculture and craftsmanship. There is a fishing and agricultural exhibition in the museum hall, and a new swimming exhibition in the barn in 2021. In the cafe building that originally functioned as Uito's accommodation building, you can get to know the interiors of Uito kämpa and the Old Hamina-themed room.
In the summer, events are organized at the museum, such as the museum day during Ii's home region week in July. The museum's very own stick horse stable and track are free to use during the museum's opening hours. You can also find them in the museum area cafe Old Hamina and the covered stage of Huiling.

Valto Pernu's home museum
Valto Pernu was Finland's last market photographer. He was born in Ii in 1909, and made his first camera at the age of 14. He traveled around Finland by bicycle taking photographs until he moved to Rovaniemi as the market photographer "Linssi".
Valto Pernu lived a rather modest life, and so after his death in 1986, a large fortune was bequeathed to a foundation bearing his name. His home in Iin Asemakylä has been turned into a home museum, where his paintings and artefacts belonging to him are on display.
The photography equipment has been donated to the Provincial Museum of Lapland in Rovaniemi. The foundation also manages a rather significant amount of forests belonging to Valto Pernu, which are intended to be kept as pristine primeval forests. There is also a memorial stone in the yard of the house, which was unveiled in 2001.
