Jakkukylä suspension bridge

Completed in December 2021, the longest suspension bridge in northern Europe will cross the nearly 200-meter-wide Iijoki.

Walking or riding a bicycle is allowed on the bridge. The walking surface of the bridge is made of a small metal frame, so take this into account when moving with a dog, for example.

Address: Jakuntie 85 (north shore, Jaku school) and Maalismaantie 1038, Jakkukylä (south shore).

Services:

  • In the summer of 2022, there will be a Siltakahvila run by the young entrepreneurs of the villagers on the beach of the Jaku school, see the opening hours: instagram.com/siltakahvila
  • Next to the suspension bridge, there is a sandy swimming spot on the shore of the Jaku school. The swimming area also has a small changing room for changing clothes. The beach is not official, but is maintained by the villagers.
  • Purusaari camping area
