Swimming beaches
In Ii, you can choose a swimming spot either on the banks of rivers, lakes or the sea, according to your preference.
Official swimming beaches are Vihkosaari and Vatunki, where water samples are taken regularly during the summer.
Vihkosaari beach and swimming pool
Address: Vihkosaari beach and swimming pool, Illinsaarentien 18, Ii.
A shallow and sunny sandy beach on Illinsaari, which is the most popular swimming spot in Ii. The site has a year-round pier, four rope-separated swimming lanes (25m long), changing rooms, a campfire and cookie area, a beach volleyball court, children's seesaws, a climbing frame and a bio-toilet.
In winter, the swimming pool is available to those who have paid the seasonal fee.
In the summer of 2025, a summer café will operate in the area. Cafe & Kiosk Vihkosaari and for rent sauna wagon BastuSauna.

Vatungi Beach
Another official beach in the municipality of Ii is Vatungin uimaranta, address Pohjoisrannantie 759. In the summer, the area is also open Suviranta restaurant and in winter, open-air swimming is possible.

- Praava marina, the area has a sandy swimming area, a lean-to/firepit area, a picnic area and changing rooms.
- Jakkukylä school beach. The swimming area also has a small changing room for changing clothes. The beach is open in the summer. Bridge cafe.

- Oijärvi swimming area, Oijärventie 3325. Shallow beach, beach huts, changing rooms, lean-to with a fire pit, places to have a snack,
boat launch and birdwatching tower. The area is maintained by, among others, the Oijärvi Fishing Association.
